Indonesia has many panorama and nature which get
attractive to explore. One incredible and famous mountain in Indonesia is Bromo
Mountain. Spend morning time in this place becomes a dream for anyone who want

Bromo Mountain is also an ideal tourist destination
for you to relax and refresh your mind. Most of visitors who visit Bromo
Mountain had desire to see the sunrise. They so excited to come because the
mountain is an active volcano and this mountain part of the Tengger massif in
East Java, Indonesia. This mountain is about 2.393 meters above the sea
surface. The massif area is one of the most visited tourist attractions in East
Java, Indonesia. The volcano belongs to the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park.
The name of Bromo derived from Javanese pronunciation of Brahma, the Hindu
creator god.
Mount Bromo sits in the middle of a vast plain
called the "Sea of Sand" (Indonesian: Lautan Pasir), a protected nature reserve since 1919. The typical
way to visit Mount Bromo is from the nearby mountain village of Cemoro Lawang,
if you want to visit Bromo but it is depending on the degree of volcanic
activity, the Indonesian Centre for Volcanology and Disaster Hazard Mitigation
sometimes issues warnings against visiting Mount Bromo.

amazing panorama and unique culture. The accommodation to Bromo Mountain is
quite adequate. Bromo Mountain volcano in East Java is the active cone inside

Bromo is famous with the activity to watch the

From the village near Bromo mountain, it is possible
to walk to the volcano in about 45 minutes, but it is also possible to take an
organized jeep tour, which includes a stop at the viewpoint on Mount Penanjakan
(2,770 m or 9,088 ft) (Indonesian: Gunung
Penanjakan). The viewpoint on Mount Penanjakan
can also be reached on foot in about two hours. If you like to hiking, you can
walk to get penanjakan 1 or penanjakan 2.
Enjoying a sunrise is the best moment when you visit
Bromo Mountain. But, you have to prepare yourself since 03.00 am. to Penanjakan
Hill. From the hill, you can see the mountain from above, including Semeru
Mountain and Batok Mountain. As the sunrise appears the cloud hanging under the
mountain. This condition creates incredible panoramas and mystical nuance. This
is such a beautiful natural scenery and you will never bore to stare it. As the
sun moves higher, you can get down from the hill to see a wide stretch of sand.
The total area is about 15 kilometers squares and in this area, there is a
place named as Pasir Berbisik (Whispering
Sands).
How
to get there:
You can go to Bromo Mountain from Surabaya, Malang
or Yogyakarta. The transportation you can use to go to that city, if you are
already in Indonesia, you can go there by flight, bus, or train. But if you
choose train as your transportation to get to Bromo mountain, you can ask
whatever your position to get to Probolinggo.
Probolinggo is a port town, particularly for the fishing industry and is the
nearest town of any size to Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park. The latter is
main reason any tourists local and overseas travel comes here as there is
little else of interest.
From the Probolinggo station train, you can continue
to Bayu Angga bus terminal (bus
stop) by angkot. The angkot which pass the Bayu Angga bus
terminal the yellow color, when you out from the gate of train station just
take to the right side and make sure that’s angkot
pass to the terminal and tell the driver to stop you near Elf or Bison (the
other transportation which this angkot
just the only angkot which go to
Bromo mountain or Cemoro Lawang Village. This transportation is around 4.000
IDR. For the elf or bison, the local people said about this angkot, this elf will
go when the angkot full, one person
just pay around 35.000 IDR – 40.000 IDR per person. The full elf (mini bus) is
12 people. This elf already operation 08.00 am until 03.00 pm, but the last elf
also can be before 05.00 pm. If the elf is not full, then the driver elf will
ask for the rent, you can bargain first or negotiation the price is around 450.000
IDR (the end of 2014) per elf to bring you to Bromo mountain or near Bromo
mountain, depend on home stay or hotel which one you book or what you want to
take. If you don’t want, you can look home stay near terminal bus, but if
having a few people also who want go to the Bromo, you can shared the price
together with them with the deal with them and the driver. The trip from
Terminal Probolinggo to the Bromo mountain or Cemoro Lawang is around 1,5
hours. The way to get this place, you can feel the cold weather and good view.
NOTE : You should out of gate terminal probolinggo,
because Elf or bison (minivan bus) which take you to Bromo always stand
outside bus terminal. That is in the
left if you walk out from terminal. You will see a few minivan bus which stand
to take the passengers to go to Bromo Mountain. Be careful with pander which
over you service to get you to Bromo, just say NO if you won’t use that
service, because they will offer high price.
